How to prepare for a hurricane

Water – 1 gallon per day per person for 3 – 7 days
Food   – for 3 – 7 days
– non-perishable packaged or canned food/juices
– food for infants or elderly
– snack foods
– non-electric can opener
– cooking tools and fuel
– paper plates and plastic utensils
Blankets, pillows, etc.
Clothing – seasonal, rain gear, sturdy shoes
First Aid kit, medicines and prescription drugs
Special items for babies and the elderly
Toiletries, hygiene, waterless hand cleaner and moist wipes
Flashlight with fully charged batteries
Radio battery operated/NOAA
Fully charged cell phone with extra batteries and a corded land line
Cash and credit cards as banks may not be open and ATMs may not have electricity
Keys
Entertainment items for children that do not require electricity
Important documents in a waterproof container
Small tool kit
Vehicles with a full tank of gas

PET SUPPLIES TO HAVE ON HAND
 If the storm is close, you may want to put your animal on a leash or in a kennel and make sure they have some identification.
Muzzle and leash
Food and water
Carrier or cage
